And changing the deployment time increases the tonnage per crewman requirement.  Basically it makes crew quarters less effective to represent the fact that the crew needs better accommodations if they're going to be on-duty longer.

The "Deployment Time" field in the top left corner of the Design window can be changed to increase or decrease intended deployment time.

I'm having moral problems with some of my survey ships because they've been out exploring longer than their deployment times. This must be one of the new rules in 6.x that I'm just becoming familiar with after starting to play again after a couple years.

So my question is, when designing ships what can I add to ship designs to increase the planned deployment time so the survey ships can stay out longer than the 3 months they're designed for now?
