Yes, although if my memory serves PDC based maintenance facilities are more expensive than normal ones. You may also think about orbital bases, they are still more expensive, but you can generally build them faster (as you'll use shipyards) and you'll be able to use your factories for something else.

I accidentally made a 1 million ton naval shipyard. Don't ask.

If I put maintnance modules on PDCs, will that expand my maintnance capacity without draining workforce? (My workforce is.. rather busy working at a certain shipyard)
