For several key windows, such as the system map, system view or galactic map, Aurora uses the default race with no option to change races. This makes a lot of things considerably easier for me within the program but sometimes it can be slightly annoying during a battle to switch sides on the F3 system map. One current method is to use the SM ability to change default race by clicking on an event in the same system for another race. This will load the system map with the other race viewing using a single click, but it isn't very elegant.

Therefore in v2.5, if you are in the System Map as the SM a new dropdown will appear under the system name dropdown if more than one race knows about the system. This new dropdown will contain the default race at the top plus any other races that know about the system. If you select one of these other races, Aurora will change to that race as the default and reload the system map using that race and the current system. The view will be centered on the same point as when the new race last viewed the system. This should allow the user to quickly change between two or more sides during a battle.

If you are not in SM mode or only one race knows about the system, the dropdown will not appear.
