It used to be the case that ships couldn't repair in PDCs , but I'm not sure if that's the case anymore.
Well, as of 6.43 it definitely worked, because that is how I did in fact all my repairs, - by just docking them in one of the 1.5mt hangars.
idefelipe, you say it doesn't work anymore, so there might be a change towards 7.1 with the hangar mechanic now becoming much more prominent. I don't have those in my current 7.1 game yet, so I cannot check.

I have made the NORAD IV including a Damage Control (add 10 points of Damage Control Rating) and fighters don't be repaired.  Also, I try to transfer Maintenance Supplies to the PDC and nothing happens (I have more than 19000 in Earth)

In the design view, I can't include any engineering section.  Is there any Eng.  Section specifically designed for PDCs?

I'm sure that this is a mistake from me and fighters can be repaired in a PDC, but I don't find the key. .  (I tried to repair the fighters using the navy shipyards, but when I set repair the Fighter class doesn't appears in the menu)

From the Damage Control Rating of 0 I presume that this PDC has no engineering or damage control modules.

The maintenance module acts like the facility and does nothing for repairing of ships/fighters. Just having the maintenance storage (filled with maintenance) is enough, with the fighters sitting in it they will repair on their own and use the maintenance from the pdc. I know this works with ships and stations because that is my personal experience, and I've heard people using pdcs but I've never tried it this way.

Ok, thanks :)

Another question.   I have the fighters above posted, and I want to land them in a PDC for repairs.   But although the PDC has:

Code: [Select]
NORAD III class Fighter Base    64 500 tons     1265 Crew     6217.3999 BP      TCS 1290  TH 0  EM 0
Armour 5-143     Sensors 16/192     Damage Control Rating 0     PPV 352.8
Intended Deployment Time: 12 months    Flight Crew Berths 1
Hangar Deck Capacity 15000 tons     Magazine 3850
Maintenance Modules: 2 module(s) capable of supporting ships of 400 tons

Fuel Capacity 2 000 000 Litres    Range N/A

Runion Electronic Systems Thermal Sensor TH2-16 (1)     Sensitivity 16     Detect Sig Strength 1000:  16m km
Runion Electronic Systems EM Detection Sensor EM2-16 (1)     Sensitivity 16     Detect Sig Strength 1000:  16m km

Missile to hit chances are vs targets moving at 3000 km/s, 5000 km/s and 10,000 km/s

This design is classed as a Planetary Defence Centre and can be pre-fabricated in 26 sections

As you can see it has two Maintenance Modules and two Maintenance Storage Bay, but when I land a fighter there to be repaired it again says that there is insufficent maintenance supplies.   Fighters can't be repaired in PDCs as docking in a mothership? Or they can just be repaired using shipyards or a ship with maintenance supplies?

They lack the AI to know what to do with TN tech, which makes sense since it explains why they're pre TN. :p
However that said you can help them out by conquering the poor savages and allowing them to join your empire. Maybe they can learn your language whilst in the forced labor battalions?

Pre-TN NPRs will remain pre-TN.

It worked!

I docked the Fighter in a Carrier and it was repaired.  Before I just "assigned" the fighter to the carrier, instead docking it :)

Another question:

In the "new game" menu there is an option:

Generate only non-TN races

These non-TN races could get TN technology by their own, or will be non-TN races forever?

The damage control screen in the individual ships window allows the ship to attempt self repairs in the field using onboard maintenance supplies. As your fighter does not store any maintenance supplies, damage control wont work.
To repair the engines (or anything else on the fighter) you can either dock it on a mothership, or send it to a planet with a free shipyard. If you use a mothership, all you need to do is dock the fighter and wait a few hours. If sufficient maintenance supplies are available in the mothership the repairs should be automatically made. If you use a shipyard, make sure the fighter is in orbit over the correct planet/system body and open up the economy window. Under the shipyards tab go as if to build a new ship, but instead select "repair" under the dropdown menu and select your fighter's class and name in the next couple dropdowns.

Hey there,

I have installed again the Aurora, but this time I can spend a lot of time on it.  I am playing a first game to know more deeply the game and I am getting some questions about it.  Instead opening a large amount of threads, I though that would be better to open just one :)

Of course, if this is not correct, mods can delete it freely :)

First question, and more rencet one.

I have a Fighter:

Code: [Select]
F-10 "Falcon" class Fighter    300 tons     2 Crew     54.35 BP      TCS 6  TH 10.5  EM 0
3500 km/s     Armour 1-3     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 0     PPV 3.6
Maint Life 0 Years     MSP 0    AFR 60%    IFR 0.8%    1YR 4    5YR 53    Max Repair 15.75 MSP
Intended Deployment Time: 3 months    Spare Berths 1
Magazine 24

Pratt & Whitney  F21-B Ion Drive (1)    Power 21    Fuel Use 280.76%    Signature 10.5    Exp 17%
Fuel Capacity 5 000 Litres    Range 1.1 billion km   (3 days at full power)

Kirchner Box Launcher S-6 (4)    Missile Size 6    Hangar Reload 45 minutes    MF Reload 7.5 hours
Smirnov Ltd. FSL-16F Missile Fire Control (1)     Range 16.6m km    Resolution 120
ASM-1 Sabre S6 (4)  Speed: 18 000 km/s   End: 179.6m    Range: 193.9m km   WH: 8    Size: 6    TH: 84/50/25

Missile to hit chances are vs targets moving at 3000 km/s, 5000 km/s and 10,000 km/s

This design is classed as a Fighter for production, combat and maintenance purposes

And some of them have the Pratt & Whitney  F21-B Ion Drive damaged.  When I click in the fighter and begin the Damage Control I get a message that it is unable to continue with emergency repairs due the insufficent maint.  supplies.  I have tried to produce engines in with industrial and to move it inside a mothership. . .  but nothing works.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
