Given that EM tech affects sensor ranges, and that your firmula is of by 10%, I'd say that's your problem right there.

I thought this too. But this applies also to tech with 80% sensitivity.

So I made my own furmula for detection ranges and used the math from the wiki. And I am aware that 1 MSP is 2.5 tons is 0.05 HS.

My tech is:
Sensor Strength : 28
Size: 50 tons or 1HS
Em Sensitivity: 11
Resolution: 50 tons or 1
putting it into my formula I get:           create Tech (in game) tells me:

Size 6 (or smaller):    277,200 km  ?      335,412 km
Size 8:                       492,800 km  =     492,800 km
Size 12:                  1,108,800 km  =  1.108,800 km
1 HS:                      3,080,000 km  =  3.080,000 km

The only msp I get 335,412 km as a result is 6.6
So is my formula off? Or does Aurora4X treat Size 6 (or smaller) missiles as 6.6 in Size? And what happens with detection ranges for missiles between 6.1 and 7.9 MSP?

It bugs me  ???
