I dunno what I did, or if I looked at something different.  But I just started up the game again and it's fine!

So I'm gonna work on creating a few more colonies so I can research a lot more! Gonna be ready in case something is out there :P

I have already a few auto mines with mass drivers set up, but I'll have to search around for those other options ^^

Well. . .  all the researches I have done on Earth aren't available for me on Mars?

Same race/empire?

Any settled colony means more people, which means more taxes.

Auto Mines + some Mass-Drivers aiming for a collection colony make mineral gathering fairly simple.
Labs on a planet with a Research anomaly are always good
You could create a forward supply depot (Fuel, Missiles, MSP)
Add Factories and you have a Frontier Production center

Just what directly came to mind.

And I don't understand your Ship issue.
If mean you want to build them on Mars you need Shipyards and you have to make sure their capacity is equal larger than the ships tonnage. Researches themselves are available everywhere once finished.

Hello there,

I'm having a great time with Aurora so far, but I have a simple question about the colonies.  A few ingame years ago I started one on Mars, but I'm not completely sure what to do with it.  I thought I could use Mars for my 'battle' ships, but the researches aren't available on Mars (I have to research them again).

So what are the benefits of having multiple colonies and what are the possibilities?
