Sol, 10 months into my current playthrough:

The aliens must be 1 JP away they found me in March and then launched their attack on me in September. It is currently October of the first year.
I fought back using Ion engine and TL1 Railgun FACs. They worked really well for their cost in build points compared to the work they did on the enemy ships. Some railgun STO's also were useful, opening fire right when the enemy fleet was right above Earth (shooting up my shipyards) with two massive devastating volleys of railgun fire before the enemy ships realized being too close to Earth is a mistake.

And now a new contact of a second NPR has just appeared in Sol and I haven't even finished Geo or Grav surveying yet. Can't wait to see what they send at me I wonder if I will ever be able to secure the Sol System from dangerous aliens, haha.

Also no bugs encountered so far!

As far as I'm aware, min and max range do not work in random stars games.
That said, looks like a hell of a game, there.
