Any clue if I can start in 5.42 and continue in 5.50? I would really like to restart a game now  :)

Any change of digit after the decimal point for version number means a database change.  That means that you can't move a game from 5.42 to 5.50.  You would be able to move from 5.50 to 5.51 for example.
