Hmmm, you could go all in on having a 10km range unit and have a reeeeeal tiny fire control.  

I wonder, how much does it slow down/cost up if you up it to 1000 tons with armor...? :)

What I am really worried about is mpg.  The price of fuel is outrageous these days and having to fill up the tank every 3 or 7 days is going to hurt my pocketbook.  At the range you would need to launch this guy to effectively close to firing range with that little of fuel the mothership is going to take a flogging.  A fair bit more range would allow this sports car to fly in under the radar to make a surprise delivery without running the gauntlet in the carrier.
