It's actually got worse, with even more loops :)

That could make defending your borders quite hard if there are so many ways to get to any particular system.

I've never seen a map that crazy, but my previous game had a really giant and inconvenient loop:

The loop was about two dozen systems in circumference. The long off-axis edge at the bottom of the map is the connection that tied the loop together, and it's actually even longer than it looks. I later adjusted the map so that it was at least displayed as a horizontal line and didn't intersect any systems, but I guess I never took a screenshot of it.

Yeah late game loops can be a real pain to deal with if you care about that sort of thing.

Has anyone ever encounter human NPR? (if playing with)

It totally fascinate me the possibility to discover these humans in some remote body, but still same as human player.

Not yet, but I enabled that option for my current game. Maybe I will soon enough!

On the other hand, this is the craziest map I've ever seen. I've just discovered that I'm trapped in a cul-de-sac:

I guess I'm going to need a diplomatic ship in a hurry.

It's actually common if you do not set at least 4 jump point at the start in Sol, I think it is also in the guide for a new game setup (VB6 Version)

You can always add one though

Possibly, although I have never before had any chain end after just two jumps from Sol. Bad luck to have it happen in the one game where I only have two jump points in Sol.

You mean a torpedo delivery service?

I've decided to try out particle cannons in this game, but yes!

last game in v1.11 I had Sol with 4 Jump points, three of which effectively dead-ended for me.

One with a spoiler that I couldn't defeat at my current level next door to Sol, one with an actual dead end also next door, and one with a serious NPR which was also too big to assault (but which at least was happy to talk) two jumps out, but with no other jump points free except in the alien home system.

Even the remaining line had a couple of different spoilers, but at least they did not close off all possible exploration.  Was quite fun and challenging though. ;D

Hmm, my current game is pretty crazy. Im sure it has to do with the game options im playing - still quite complicated at this point. Just keep finding connections from new systems into excising systems creating new and grander loops.

I promise you guys i really did try to clean it up, but i simply cant find a better way to simplify it. Sometimes I wonder what the starmap would look like if a had discovered the systems in another time-order. If anyone can do a better clean up of this starmap I would really be excited to see what you could come up with.

At this point im really missing some functions on the star map. Especially: Zoom, display system number, and options to turn on/off display of connections between systems.
