Second Outbound Flight - 1
« on: August 09, 2017, 11:39:57 PM »
1st January 2025:
Planetfall made. Current priority is to boost construction.
Current research is on improving construction techniques and developing the Simpson Orbital Systems 62.5 EP Commercial Nuclear Thermal Engine in order to begin surveying nearby planets.

1st March 2025:
Development of commercial engine successful. Beginning research in active sensors.
The Imperial Ship Design Bureau has developed the Boundary-class Geological Survey Vessel.
The Boundary-class Vessel allows for us to begin exploring the Holson system for more exploitable resources.

Geological Survey Sensors (2)   2 Survey Points Per Hour

This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes

The Imperial Survey Corps have ordered 2 Boundary-class vessels to begin surveying. They are expected to be complete by the next year.

1st July 2026:
Research into Active Sensors is complete. The Imperial Navy requests researchers begin development of weapons to defend the fledging Empire, as the plasma-based blaster weaponry appears to fizzle out when used in space. Concentrated beams of energy in the form of lasers, and missiles, have been identified as possible replacements.

Imperial researchers hence begin development of expanding laser focal sizes.

The economy is receding, with a possible government budget deficit this year, hence a portion of construction is reallocated to constructing financial centres.

1st August 2026:
Further research into construction techniques begins as the first iteration is complete.

1st September 2026:
The development of the 2 Boundary-class Geological Survey Vessels is complete. They begin exploring the asteroids.

1st August 2028:
Research begins into visible light lasers.

1st February 2029:
With development of better construction techniques complete Imperial researchers begin expanding the civilian economy.

1st May 2030:
The Empire is in debt. Imperial Infrastructure Corps reassigns more construction factories to churn out more financial centres.

1st September 2030:
Imperial researchers complete development of Visible Light Lasers. They begin research into reducing their size for smaller lasers to fit into fighters.

1st June 2031:
With research into expanding the economy complete, Imperial researchers begin developing missile warhead strength in anticipation of the larger importance of missiles in this galaxy.

1st September 2031:
For the first time since the economy began receding, the economy shows signs of recovery, and the monthly government deficit is receding rapidly.

1st July 2033:
Imperial researchers complete development of better warheads. They begin development of Pebble Bed Reactors for faster engines.

1st April 2035:
Imperial researchers begin development of better research techniques.

1st May 2035:
All the asteroids in range of the current Boundary-class vessels have been surveyed. The Boundary-class vessels are recalled to Holson for refitting in the future.

1st June 2035:
Research begins into nuclear pulse engines.

26th May 2037:
Both shipyards begin expanding their capacity, while researchers begin development of faster shipyard operations.

26th February 2038:
Imperial researchers begin developing faster fire control speed rating to allow for faster tracking of fast targets, such as hostile missiles.

26th April 2038:
Researchers complete development of Nuclear Pulse Engine technology, and begin developing the Simpson Orbital Systems 100EP Nuclear Pulse Engine.

26th June 2038:
Sienar Fleet Systems, founded by colonists previously part of the company in the same name in their original galaxy, now increasingly known as the Imperial Galaxy, is contracted to develop the Sienar Fleet Systems VE-01 drive for standard Imperial vessels.

27th August 2038:
Imperial Ship Design Bureau (ISDB) develops the Analyst-class Gravitational Survey Vessel, as part of the increasing interest in the Jump Theory that allows for inter-system travel.

The jump theory is based off data remnants in the Outbound Flight Vessel's data terminals. The technology for long-range extragalactic jumps has been lost, but a version that allows for short, inter-system jumps that exploits holes in space-time, known as jump points, has been developed.

The Analyst-class Vessel is developed to survey the theorised locations of these jump points in the Holson system.

Construction of 2 of such vessels begins.

Meanwhile Imperial researchers begin improving maximum engine power modifiers for the development of fast fighters.

27th November 2039:
The 2 Analyst-class vessels are complete. They are allocated under the Imperial Survey Corps and sent to survey the predicted jump points.

25th July 2040:
2 jump points have been located. Scouts with jump drives are being planned.

25th October 2040:
The current Analyst-class vessels have insufficient fuel to reach the jump points further away from Holson Prime, a blunder by Imperial Ship Bureau designers in their rush to push out the design. A new version is developed with more fuel.
