i'm having the same problem. unfortunately, my laptop doesn't allow for a resolution higher than 1024x768. does this mean that i'll just have to wait until other resolutions are supported?
I have been looking at the possibility of reducing the height of the windows a little so they will fit on a laptop resolution of 1440x900 but unfortunately I can't see me ever being able to reduce both height and width of the major windows to 1024x768.

slider bars aren't an option?

I have given this another go. In v3.1, the Fleet Moves window has been setup as a test with optional scrollbars. If you click the Activate Scrollbars option, the window borders resize to the screen resolution and scrollbars appear at the right and bottom. Using these scrollbars you can move the controls around so you can access the whole fleet moves window. It actually works fairly well, although it doesn't work at all unless you are at low resolution so I programmed this while working in 1024x768 instead of 1600x1200. I have gained a new appreciation for higher resolutions :)

Its quite a lot of work so I'll see how useful players think this is before modifying any more windows.

If it lets me play around with Aurora on my work laptop whilst stuck in a hotel on a training or disaster recovery exercise, then it'll fall in the "bloody useful" category.
Thanks for the effort.

No problem. I ended up creating something a little more flexible than I first intended. It should be able to cope with different resolutions and will only add scrollbars if required. Some laptop resolutions may be wide enough but not deep enough so they should only get the vertical scrollbar.

There is a post Steve made with a link to a utility that expands the desktop resolution beyond the screen resolution

I don?t know if this will work with your desktop/laptop.
I have an acer with an ATI mobiliy Radeon x1600 and in the screen where I set the resolution I click on "erweitert" (enhanced, extended or something like that in english) then I open the "Monitor" tab. There is a checkbox that says: "Modi ausblenden, die von diesem Monitor nicht angezeigt werden" (do not show modes, that are not supported by this monitor).
Once I uncheck it, I can set my laptop up to 2048 x 1536 with the screen scrolling up/down and left/right, whenever I move the mousepointer over the edge of the screen.
That way, I am now able to run aurora with no problem on my 1280 x 800 laptop

Just tried this on my work laptop and it works fine.  Cool.  Never knew you could do that, but then I spend most of my time with server O/S rather than client.  Thanks.

Thanks for posting this. I knew this type of thing was possible as I did it myself long ago (in Windows 3.1 I think :)) but I couldn't remember how to do it.

It took me several hours to figure it out. I was looking everywhere.
Who would have thought it is a simple checkbox.

What OS are you operating?  I can do this on my laptop running XP, but not the one running Vista.
