I will be travelling back to my home country this Friday night, landing on Sat morning.  They will put me in quarantine for 14 days.

Hope I got something to do when it starts.  *hint hint*

;)

PS : No hurry, I got other things to occupy myself with as well, hehe

i will build ships with as much officer roles of them as possible, every ship function that can be enhanced by an officer will be fittet with modules providing space for said officer.
Warships, Scouts, Traders, Troop Transports, Space Stations, every one will have more then just the commander onboard.

Also i would love to try out ground combat, i think that the more granular approach on army layout and troop composition will give far more meaning even to guard posts with their humble ground army and STO support.

Also i would like to try out diplomacy, as in VB6 i never quite understood it and either eradicated or got eradicated

In VB from my experience it just matters how Xenophobic the alien race is.  You pretty much initiate communications and assign the highest Diplo team you can form to them and don't fly ships in their systems (hard to tell in VB what is an alien system sometimes tho).

I actually have been thinking about doing that for a while. But the lack of "graphics" didn't really appeal stream wise  :P

I think my first game will be very plain. One, maybe two NPRs from the get go (not starting in the same system) with a very low chance to generate new ones. 300 systems max to keep the universe at a reasonable size.

I'm doing an East vs West game set in 2034 where the world is in recovery from a much worse version of our current virus that wiped 1/3 of the planet.

Most of Africa and most of Asia vs the America's, Europe, Oceania, and a splattering of other countries.  This gives about a 3. 0B to 2. 4B split respectively.  Hopefully all goes well and I get a good test of early game tech, ground combat, and some moderate pressure to push out of Sol.

Maybe do one of those video meetups which are getting popular now while we are all playing it for the first time.

My first play through will be a 2100 Conventional+ start (SM added TN tech and nothing else) with a post-WW3 world where China defeats the US in a naval fight in 2021 and gets expansionistic, ends up in a three way war with the Russian Federation and India which turns into general nuclear exchange in 2050.  Pandemic and nuclear winter causes huge die off of population world wide and survivors unify under a European/Japanese led Federation with former North American states as junior partners.  TN theory is discovered in Stockholm and the newly formed United Earth Federation seems to go off world.

I'll probably make a few custom naming theme with my conlang and then use that as a setting.
