There are already collections of portrait drawn from EVE Online, which are quite good, if only with a certain 'style'.
Can you give a portrait to your commanders? That would be awesome, as it would give them personality.
I don't think commanders have portraits. And there'd be hundreds of them for a single species.
Will NPR's use those pics or do they choose only those from RaceXXX.bmp files??

Yeah, I'll be looking into that. It seems I've semi-consciously focused on military/aristocratic personages.
You should make a zip/rar/etc for ease of download 
I can create one such file when the collection stabilizes. For the time being, I'm frequently adding stuff and it's easier to add them to the Google Drive folder. And as Doren says, you can compress and download the entire folder selecting multiple files with Shift, click on the three dots button on the upper right portion of the screen and clicking on Download.
