Event Interrupt Toggler
« on: July 25, 2020, 02:01:46 PM »
I have created a tool which can toggle player event interrupts.  I talked to Steve and he has declared this to be okay, so I am making a forum thread for it.  Notably, there are AI event interrupts which this mod will not modify, because the AI needs those in order to react to those events and therefore changing that would break the AI.

You can find the tool here:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/auxit76j828n47h/tool.zip/file

This file includes an executable (for ease of use), and also the python source code if you want to look at what the tool is doing.

Instructions:

The tool interacts with the saved database, so you need to have aurora closed while you are using the tool in order for it to work (you will notice I actually have the game open while I am making this, that wont work so do as I say not as I do.  I'm just too lazy to close the game while making the instructions).

Open the tool (use the .exe unless you have all the python3 libraries that the tool needs installed), at which point you will see this:

Click the SELECT DB button to open up your aurora DB:

You will notice at this point that this window opens up wherever you put the .exe, so if you drop it into the aurora directory this will make it easier to find your DB.

At this point you will see a list of all of the events in the database, as well as whether they produce interrupts or not:

You can click anywhere on the event (the name or the checkbox) to toggle whether the event interrupts, and any unsaved changes will be highlighted in yellow:

The yellow is meant to make it easier to see what changes you have made so you don't inadvertently toggle an event.

The COMMIT button will save the changes, and then re-load the database file to show you the new state of the database:

At this point the events are modified and you can open up aurora and go back to playing.

Disclaimer:
By using this mod, you forfeit the option of submitting bugs on the forum. If you encounter a bug, please attempt to reproduce on a clean Aurora database.
