--- As the title suggests, this is a post about my Three Fighter Doctrine and why it doesn't work at the maximum possible tech level. Three Fighter Doctrine works by having Bombers that strike capital ships, Interceptors that launch out against Bombers to stop them from launching and Starfighters that launch out to defend retreating Bombers and ward off enemy Interceptors / Starfighters. This system fails under MaxTech conditions due to the positively absurd capabilities of missile tech combined with Beam FCS limitations on fighter craft. Of the given designs, the Attack-Class Bomber could handily wipe a squadron of 4 comprised of any mix of Interceptors and Starfighters. Put simply, there is just no reason to not use a missile-centric fighter corps under MaxTech. I theorize that a ship mounting a large caliber Reduced-Shot Railgun and perhaps a Size 2~6 Box Launcher or two with a similar configuration to my Claymore-Class fighter might make a viable "Beam" Fighter.
