So I'm a few years into my 5.53 campaign now and decided I should start building proper warships. My naming conventions were borrowed (ie. shamelessly stolen) from Steve's designation systems he's used in his campaigns. I think they're quite useful, however, so I don't feel too bad about it.
I currently have ion engine technology and somewhat decent sensors (active sensitivity 21, EM and Thermal 11). The following is my proposed main battle line ship. It's meant to be versatile enough to fight both as a unit with other ships of the same and different classes, and capable of performing minor independent missions as well if need be. Ideally, however, it'll fight alongside a dedicated escort frigate or destroyer and a destroyer leader with a squadron jump drive. The technology for those classes is currently being researched.
