When and what pre-reqs cause these to show up?

Advanced Lasers, Torps, etc.

You can only get them from ruins. Once you get the base model, you can research the others, effectively replacing the standard line of technology. Very useful for your Empire if you get this result in ruins :)

The terran Federation started out with this tech line for advanced lasers during race generation. Was this an oops?

What are all of the advanced options? I've seen Laser, Railgun, Plasma Carronade, and... I think that's it

Also Torpedoes. I might add some more in the future depending on how the current ones work out.
