The Solar Imperium - AAR
« on: April 20, 2019, 02:04:43 PM »
Administrative stuff!
This AAR is based off an idea very similar (and inspired) by 40k.  A god-like entity guiding Humanity.

Start year is 3250
Trans-Newtonian Start
Real Stars off
I started off with 240000 research points.
I kept star swarm on, turned off precursors.
1 TN NPR in space somewhere.

Lore
The United States of America and the Russian Federation were caught in the midst of a long Cold War.  The war soon turned hot when DPRK launched invasions into South Korea with the new administrations in Beijing and Moscow supporting them.  A treaty was signed by most nations vowing to never use nuclear weapons.  However, the Eastern Bloc came close various times…

Eastern and central Europe were overrun by Russian forces.  America could not react in time.  NATO collapsed.  The world was sent back into a dark age after many nuclear strikes.

That was in 2025.

Six hundred years later, Humanity came out of the shelters.  They rebuilt as much as they could… This period was known as the 2nd Dark Age.  Most history of the 2nd Dark Age is lost.  According to text and accounts that were found of that time period: at some point, an Angel came from the stars while Humanity was underground and restored Earth.

This Angel would soon be called the Deus Astra by the masses.

After untold years of darkness and warfare: the great Warlords convened in Londeria.  They agreed that the best fit to rule should be the sole survivor of the duels.  Just before the duels began; an angelic begin descended.  He decreed that he alone would guide Humanity through the perils of the galaxy.  He declared himself the Deus Astra and the patron god of Humanity.

The leaders immediately bowed before the Deus Astra.  Within a year, Earth was unified by the Deus Astra.

The Deus Astra bestowed lost age technology… The Trans-Newtonian technology that would radically kickstart the Imperium’s technology.
Maybe, in the end, this was the best that any warrior could hope for. A chance to reconcile with your enemy, or, failing that, to fall in the pursuit of peace

1st of January, 3250.

The Lord-Governor of Earth was Tolim Salvin.   Salvin was appointed by the Deus Astra himself.   The Lord-Governor and the Technographers met in the Imperial Palace.   The Technographers had planned out the doctrine for the Solar Imperial Navy as well.   Salvin was more concerned with the present rather than galaxy conquest in the future.

Two Palace guards greeted the Technographer Magistro and the Lord Governor with a respectful salute.   The door opened to reveal a meeting room with a holo table of the Sol System.

The Magistro sat upon a chair that was beside the Lord Governor's chair.   Salvin looked at the system map.   He looked at Mars, Luna, and the Jovian moons and pointed them out.   "Those will be the future colonies of the Imperium.  "

Technographers are more machine than man.   The Magistro analyzed in his mind's CPU.   "Approval: Yes, those would be good spots.   Suggestion: I would say we should prioritize the expansion of the Sol system then quickly manufacture Jump ships.  "

Salvin slouched in his chair.   "Indeed.   What is the design you've proposed?" The Magistro began to fiddle at the holo table's configuration panel.   The map was changed to a picture of an Astra-class Exploration Ship.  .  .

The Magistros had a cheerful beep.   "Proud: A survey carrier! Boastful: Of my own design, of course.   Cheerful: The carrier's sortie consists of 5 Dawn-class Gravsurveyors and 5 Dusk-class Geosurveyors.  "

"What are those?" Salvin asked in a plain monotonous tone.

Magistro once more adjusts the table's projection.  .  .

3250 - 3260 Reports

-------

TO: Tolim Salvin
FROM: Department of Economic and Industrial Development

Your Lordship,

The Department has finalized the Ten-Year Plan.   The industrial effort plan for the next ten years is as follows:
  • 150 Construction Factories
  • 40 Fighter Factories
  • 5 Research Labs
  • 500 Mines
  • 50 Maintenance Facilities
  • 400 Infrastructure

The Department of Maritime & Orbital Affairs has forwarded their contributions:
  • 2 Naval Shipyards
  • Increase our current Naval Shipyard capacity (Titan Maritime Service) to 14,000 tons
  • Increase our current Commerical Shipyard capacity (Dree Heavy Industries) to 82,000 tons

We have completed the mineral observation.   Our results are as follows.

Earth, April 3251
Duranium - 364,299
Neutronium - 80,877
Corbomite - 67,644
Tritanium - 142,055
Boronide - 155,210
Mercassium - 92,177
Vendarite - 114,977
Sorium - 77,210
Uridium - 49,966
Corundium - 71,666
Gallicite - 84,344

The noble folk at the Maritime and Orbital Department have also completed two civilian designs.   The Passion class colony ship and the Burden class freighter.
The Ten-Year Plan hopes to complete two Passion class colony ships and at least a Burden.
-------

TO: Commodore Flyn Corbulo
FROM: Solar Navy Offices

Astra's guidance,

The Department of Military Development is currently researching various new weapon technologies.   The first ever warship of the Solar Navy is its design phase.
After speaking with various politicians and other Navy officers, we've decided to put you in charge of a future defense fleet.   This defense fleet will be in charge of defending Sol and Earth from any threats.   We are not sure if there are any extraterrestrials out in the stars, but the Solar Navy's concern is more focused on possible insurrection.   The Department of Colonial Development, under direction from Lord-Governor Tolim Salvin, has plotted out planets for settlement.   Pessimists within the Solar Army and Navy have mentioned that those colonies could be possible spots for rebellion.

We hope you accept, Flyn.

-------

Just some roleplay events!

20th of August, 3257

Flynn Corbulo's death was a surprise to the Fleet Headquarters staff.   He was replaced swiftly.   The plan reminded for a new Commodore to take Corbulo's place.

The events of the early 3260s showed a rapid expansion of Humanity into the Sol System.   The Luna colony was established.   Various financial offices were constructed to collect taxation to the Solar Imperium.   The Department of Economic and Industrial Development ran these finance offices.   Terraformers were designed and sent to Luna.   The Mars and Titan colonies were soon established.   Titan was a tricky world to colonize.   The methane in the atmosphere makes the infrastructure cost heavy.

The first prototype warship has been designed but not produced.   The Cavalier class.

Code: [Select]
Cavalier class Scout Cruiser    8,000 tons     192 Crew     1028 BP      TCS 160  TH 600  EM 0

Maint Life 1.71 Years     MSP 321    AFR 128%    IFR 1.8%    1YR 133    5YR 1988    Max Repair 191 MSP
Intended Deployment Time: 24 months    Spare Berths 0
Magazine 280

J8000(3-50) Military Jump Drive     Max Ship Size 8000 tons    Distance 50k km     Squadron Size 3
300 EP Magneto-plasma Drive (2)    Power 300    Fuel Use 21.92%    Signature 300    Exp 7%
Fuel Capacity 300,000 Litres    Range 30.8 billion km   (95 days at full power)

Titan Forge Size 4 Missile Launcher (50% Reduction) (6)    Missile Size 4    Rate of Fire 300
Missile Fire Control FC102-R60 (1)     Range 102.2m km    Resolution 60
SRM Sicarii-1 (70)  Speed: 25,000 km/s   End: 66.6m    Range: 99.8m km   WH: 6    Size: 4    TH: 150/90/45

Active Search Sensor MR136-R60 (1)     GPS 9600     Range 136.3m km    Resolution 60

Missile to hit chances are vs targets moving at 3000 km/s, 5000 km/s and 10,000 km/s

This design is classed as a Military Vessel for maintenance purposes

The Cavalier's doctrine in the Solar Navy is to provide forward scouting in unknown sectors for future Astra-class scout carriers to enter.   When the Colonists arrived on Titan, they formed a Technographer cult known as the Cult of Titan.   This cult was formed under the sect values that Astra Deus was half man half computer.   The Titan Forges have yet to establish themselves as a producer of munitions, but they send their designs to foundries on Earth.   Once such design is the Titan Pattern Sicarii short-range missile.   The missile's design is to be used to in short range combat.   The Cult of Titan has hopes to not only design missiles and weapons technology but to produce them on Titan.   Lord-Governor Tolim Salvin is hesitant.

Deus Astra did not see an issue with having Titan become the weapons factory of the Sol system.   He was pleased by the Cult of Titan.

In the Solar Navy, the highest ranked of the Admiralty has decided the naval doctrine.  Deus Strategem details that carrier support along with unrelenting missile fire will win battles.   Fighters should always be supporting the missile barrages either with the defense of missile ships or scouting of enemy ships.   Fighter-Bombers will be used as a final volley after the enemy is spent.   In the event of return missile fire, a strong rear point defense is created.

The Solar Navy began to conceptualize the first point defense ship.   The Sentinel-class Corvette.

In other regards, the economy of the Solar Imperium is very strong.   Although, the Solar Imperium needs to leave Sol to find new resources.   The Solar Navy is unsure of how to logistically handle intersystem mineral transportation.  .  .
