The problem with 1440x900
« on: April 13, 2020, 03:29:58 PM »
So, after so many complaints about windows still not fitting in 1440x900 resolution, which it's supposed to fit into, I did some testing.

THE TASKBAR IS IN THE WAY!

The windows are the exact size of the display, but the taskbar SUBTRACTS space from the available pixels, it's not EXTRA pixels on top of that 1440x900 resolution.

I'm willing to bet my hat that Steve auto-hides his taskbar... and if you set yours to auto-hide your taskbar, your windows should fit too!

No, my main monitor is 3440 x 1440 and the secondary is 2560 x 1440, while my laptop is 1920 x 1080, so it was just I forgot about the task bar on smaller screens. I also have my work PC at home at the moment which has two screens with 3440 x 1440, plus my work laptop. Looks like mission control in my office at home :)

Alternatively put the taskbar to the left or right side instead of the bottom.

Aurora actually got me to do this way back when I played the VB version on a laptop with too small a screen. And it stuck, I always have my taskbar on the right edge now. I personally hate auto-hide and similar 'moving' bits of UI.
