Fleet Movement Orders
« on: April 18, 2020, 03:35:21 AM »
What do the letters A and S stand for on the Movement order section of the Naval Organization screen? I know it must be something obvious .

I haven't tested it, but my suspicion is 'System' and 'All'- to determine wether the fleet would be willing to jump systems in order to refuel/resupply etc.

Some orders have , in brackets , the word All as part of the order - they also have the letter A as well. However some orders do not have the word All in brackets , yet still have the letter A .

I am still not certain what the A and S are supposed to signify.

It might be something else, but I don't think that incongruency would change my guess. As far as I can see, the only times you have (All) after the order is when there a two orders of the same kind. Here it makes sense to specify which of them only looks for targets in the same system and which looks for targets in others systems as well.

Take geo survey for an example. Survey Nearest Body and Survey Next Five System Bodies have 'S' because it finds targets in the same system as the survey fleet. Move to System Requiring Geo Survey has an 'A' because it looks in all systems to find the closest target.

Unless you find an (All) after an order with an 'S', then I'm fairly sure they mean All Systems and Same System.

Smoelf,

Many thanks - you are no doubt correct in your thinking . I will try this out once I have vessels with Jump Drive capabilities.
