I found that taking the 6.43 portable install and patching it to 7.10 worked just fine with the wrapper, although I guess that's kinda irrelevant now

I got a few 500 errors yesterday trying to get the 7.1 patch, the forum seems to be struggling.
Maybe retry a few times?

All due respect. . .  Do you really think I tried it once and then immediately went to this thread for help?

I've been trying a couple times an hour for like 8 hours.  I had been hoping to get the game today but I guess I'll just sleep and wait for a reupload to a server that isn't dead/dieing.

I host my release on completely different server than forums.

And there is no 403 errors on my side in logs. You still can't download it?

I uploaded updated version of installer. It handles some common errors reported by users.

Current users don't need to update.
But if you are new Aurora player and had problems with installation - try again now.

If I include this in the OP of the main installation, what instructions / links should I use?

Posting here to suggest transferring from my planet pack to one of MarcAFK's packs (I suggest using the 3rd one linked as of writing). Assuming, of course, it's still being used in the portable (which, I'll freely admit, I haven't used yet, heh). Haven't exactly tested his pack yet for comparison (still playing an old game), but it's got one great advantage over mine: It's being worked on. Actively.

To be fair the third pack is Tarran's planets, with the nice looking planets from standard Aurora and then a few artistic representations of terraformed planets from the solar system. And then the following gorgeous images.

@Steve Walmsley - http://aurora.iosphe.re/Aurora_latest.exe will always point to newest installer. There are no real instructions as it by design is fully automatic. Install it, and allow wrapper run as admin (which is also enabled by default). It will fix all know issues on newer Windows system not counting some system wide color theme glitches after playing Aurora - not found any workaround (that I can automate) for that.

You should be also aware that this release is just bucket of hacks and I'm sure it will fail to run on some computers - but it will work on most of them.

@Tarran, @MarcAFK - I will add that third pack to next release.
