C# Suggestions / Re: Suggestions Thread for v2.4.0

I am liking the capacity of stabilization ships.
To further improve their value/ability, and have more Lagrange Points in a system, in Standing Orders would it be possibile to include the orders "Build Jump Gate at Nearest Terrestrial Planet", "Build Jump Gate at Nearest Gas Giant" and "Build Jump Gate at Nearest Superjovian"?
I think that a general order only (i.e. "build JG at nearest massive planet") would be limiting.
Instead, using these three ones, we can choose where to build new LPs, to have faster ships around.

C# Suggestions / Re: Financial Centers

Financial Center is (not exclusively) a fancy term for a bank.  Banks are a place where money "grows" and it does not take long for a "frontier town" to have one.  Specifically in the US West, banks were often found in towns before rail, and were one of the factors of determining which town to route through.

A broader term is that Construction Factories make tangible goods, while Financial Centers make intangible goods, aka, services.

What could explain that my MSP freighter only transfers to Earth MSP at a rate of 10 MSP per hour, and not 40 as per the component it has?

Does the freighter have cargo shuttles?

My understanding is that the transfer rates apply only between ships and not ship to colony or colony to ship.

C# Bug Reports / Game Interface renders slower the further i zoom in
« Last post by Corax on Today at 05:36:32 AM »
Not sure if this is a bug or not.

When display-> Passive Vs Signature X or Active Sensors checkbox is ticked, and i zoom in on the map view the game slows down more and more with each zoom level.  (turn/simulation speed seems unaffected).
On max zoom level it takes around 30 seconds to render one frame or so or it just crashes.
The number of ships doesn't have any effect.

Fresh install no mods installed ,also happens in older versions.  (1. 13. 0)
Same thing happens on my other Computer (neither of them have an dedicated graphics card).

I consider my Luna Financial centers as a Las Vegas Equivalant while many of the others are temples to the various Roman Gods

It's also worth noting that a "financial center" doesn't have to be a manufacturing industry (although the conversion from conventional does imply that, admittedly). You can also envision it as something like Wall Street where it's a large collection of corporate headquarters, funds, banks, etc. which generate significant wealth and are taxed accordingly (may not be accurate for a USA roleplay setting) to generate large amounts of wealth. Basically, the normal wealth generated per TN worker is like the income taxes, and the financial centers are taxes on the corporations that actually run the factories, etc.

Given the range of roleplay possibilities, I think it is fine to use a generic name like "Financial Center" and let the players imagine as they like.

When you jump to a Jump Point and then immediately queue a return jump followed by a move to another location, the following sequence occurs:

A message indicates that jump shock prevents further jumping.
Subsequently, no further actions take place.

This persists even after five days and several game segments. Under the current mechanics, while it is correct that the ship cannot jump back immediately due to jump shock, the subsequent orders are not cancelled.

Logic suggests that either the jump shock should cancel all subsequent orders and halt turn processing, or the game should attempt another jump at the next sub-pulse.

This one probably needs a DB. I use this sequence of orders very frequently and after the first interrupt(s) the jump shock ends and the ship transits as normal, so it's probably not easy to reproduce at all.

Well, the term is obvious even if a little clunky. Light industry implies that it would produce something more tangible than wealth.
